While actual teleportation is not yet within our scientific understanding and probably will not be for a long while, deployment of 5G will allow you to virtually teleport anywhere in the world. A 5G network would allow for crystal clear video calls no matter where you are located. The next step though is holographic communication; with the advances in holographic technology and the increased bandwidth of new networks, this could become a reality soon. Imagine being in New York but having a business meeting in Tokyo and being able to actually attend and participate in the meeting using holographic projection technology. Telepresence will be an important concept going forward.
